Worked perfectly. I had a huge algae bloom that did not go away despite blackout x 5 days, frequent water changes, and reduced feedings. I used this for 5 days and now the water continues to be crystal clear. You can find the before and after. I didn’t change water, just ran it 24/7. I have since removed it and water continues to be crystal clear.

I had extremely cloudy water even though my ammonia levels were perfectly zero and my carbonate hardness, ph, nitrate and nitrite levels were well within the acceptable range. So, the cloudiness was caused my a simple bacteria bloom that was turning my pristine and beautiful underwater forest of Java ferns into the fish equivalent of silent hill. I was performing daily 20% water changes, reducing feeding, turning off the light for days at a time but nothing worked. So I caved and bought this UV filter, because the price was good and the reviews said that within 3 days their water was clear. So I put the filter in last night at around 10 pm, went to bed later that night, and when I awoke the next morning at 10am, the water was crystal clear as shown in the pictures. So within 12 hours my 20 gallon tank went from silent hill to crystal clear. I’m not going to keep it in there as a full time filter, but if that bacteria tries anything funny again, I’m going to bring down on them the UV filter of doom.

Great water quality takes time, and work. I am so glad I purchased this. We have a tank with a Yellow Belly Slider Turtle. Out friend is very messy, and no matter what…the water never looked just right. Still fine for our turtle, but it took a lot of work. It was mostly because of algae. The dock light encouraged it, and it helped when I cut back the time the light was on, but the algae was a burden. Have the FX4 and a 306 for the 75 G tank. Chemi Pure…the works, and plenty of bio media. Still hard work to keep the water clean. After 4 days, the water is crystal clear. Crystal clear. Will still keep up with maintaining the filters, water changes, and checking parameters, but the tank has never looked this nice. Walk…no RUN and get this. Amazing how this has cleared the water. My wife has noticed…and that is huge. It arrived well packaged, and worked right out of the box. Feels well built. One of my best purchases this year. I smile whenever I look at the tank now.

I got my first UV sterilizer pump in desperation after consecutively losing three very beautiful goldfish to swim bladder disease. They had been healthy when I purchased them and the water tests had been good, but eventually each fish fell ill and did not respond to any form of treatment including surgery. Finally, I noticed very small clear blebs on the aquarium glass that lead me to suspects parasites that were not susceptible to medication. Since I installed the UV sterilizer over a year ago none of my fancy goldfish has shown any sign of swim bladder problems. The sterilizers are also very effective at clearing green water but do not prevent algae from growing on the aquarium surfaces.

Wow.!!! This uv light really does work. This took a few days to clear it. My 40 gallon tank is so crystal clear. My tank is so spotless. This works alot better without turtles in the tank. My tank continues to stay crystal clear. Love this. I used this daily. I am so very happy with this product…..
