People losing fish to this are not dosing properly. If you have a 120gal tank, that doesn’t mean there’s actually 120 gallons of water in there. Also, err on the side of caution – it’s measured in ‘drops’ – which is not the most accurate way to measure, esp. when the product is in a squeeze bottle where you often get multiple drops or a small stream when you’re only trying to get one drop. I use in a bare 20gal tank with a sponge filter (pre-cycled). Even though I only use my QT a few times a year, I keep it bio-active year-round. I treat, wait several days, treat again, wait a week or so, and if all is looking good, into the display go the fish. So far, not problems over the course of a few years. It WILL kill your fish if you overdose.

I have not tried this product for treatment of Ich but after reading reviews on how effectively it treats tanks infested with snails, I decided to try it. My freshwater tank was infested with nuisance snails. After one dosage, the snails disappeared!! I hope this works as well for Ich. Cant wait to try it with new buys in my small quarantine tank.

I gotta say this stuff works! Treated a powder brown tang a clown and yellow tang in my 20 gallon QT, got a lot worse before it got better which is totally normal, let the cupramine do its job and it will eradicate ich off your fish and In your system if your a fish only. I slowly ramped up the dose double the amount of time listed on the bottle, copper is poison and should be slowly introduced to your QT / DT.

Used this with the SeaChem copper test kit which is a must. I had ich in my saltwater breeding system and after losing a few dozen fish I finally realized they had ich which was a first for me in the 20 years I’ve had saltwater systems I’ve been fortunate enough to never have ich but so many fish in this system, it was bound to happen. Dosed for two weeks no more ich!
